Flying Over Chicago

Fog

I shot this in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood a couple of years ago. Most of the times I've been in San Francisco, I haven't seen the fog come this far. It usually seems to stop west of downtown. I've seen other photos of fog blanketing the entire city, I just haven't seen it myself besides this one time.

Collage in Progress

I shot this photo about five minutes ago. It's parts of what may eventually become a collage. These and several other pieces of future collages are currently scattered around the work table in my studio.

Drunk

Ugh, busy week at school, and exhausted after spring break, so I haven't posted in a few days.
I shot this photo last week. It is an ad at an el station in downtown Chicago (interesting wording in this sentence-seven two letter words in a row!).

Bizarre

I really don't have anything to say about this photo. Just enjoy it.

Riding The Train

I shot this one while sitting on a commuter train waiting for it to pull put of the station. The window was tinted blue, I like how the blue tones work with the yellow reflections of the train interior.

Prom Gowns

Another photo shot this past Wednesday. This one was shot from the fourth floor window of a gallery, looking down onto the 'L' tracks. The prom dresses in the windows caught my eye, but when the guy wandered into the frame, the photo was complete.

Thai Restaurant

I shot this on Wednesday, the same day I shot the panorama I posted yesterday. This was taken through the window of a Thai restaurant where I stopped for lunch. The food was ok, but the Vietnamese iced coffee was very effective!

Chicago!

A beautiful, sunny day in Chicago today, so I grabbed my new camera and wandered around for a few hours. I saw some interesting art, and took a lot of photos, including this panorama.

Shipping Receiving

Here's another shot made with my new camera. It was a beautiful day today, so I went out and did a little shooting in Blue Island, IL, a suburb just south of Chicago. I'm going gallery hopping downtown tomorrow. It's supposed to be great weather, so I'm taking the camera and will do some wandering around the city.

New Camera

I just bought a new camera, and took it to my mom's house in Michigan over the weekend to practice using it. This is one of those shots.

So far, I'm very happy with this camera. I've been intrigued by this particular model since it went into production about 16 months ago, and finally found a really good price on it.

I'm on spring break this week, and hopefully will be practicing with it a lot more over the next few days.

Nancy Tuesday

Someone gave me an old mannequin years ago. I named it Nancy Tuesday, after Nancy Sinatra and Tuesday Weld. Here's Nancy sporting a pair of legs too large for (and a different color from) her torso, in a photo from around 1989. I can't remember where it was taken.

I still have Nancy, she sits on a shelf in my studio surrounded by odd toys. The legs I left behind when I moved to Chicago in 1998.
