They're not all great photos, and they don't all show perfect photographic technique (I'm way too fond of chance and happy accidents to always aim for perfection). I hope they are all interesting.Tyler Hewitthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09326657173814004230noreply@blogger.comBlogger1219125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3547427603860781676.post-18844131375103952182019-07-28T16:29:00.001-05:002019-07-28T16:30:30.335-05:00Hello Goodbye ReduxHello after nearly six years!
I have no intention of starting this blog back up again, but I wanted to update what I wrote in the last post. If anyone reads this and is interested in seeing more of my work, probably the best place for that is my Flickr page. As it turns out, I post something there nearly every day, so it's kind of close to what I used to do here. I post all my creative work there, not just photos, so you'll be able to see more of my creative interests.

There's also my other blog, Lightbender, which I still post to. These days, a lot of what I post there is the same things I post on Flickr, although sometimes with written discussions about the work.

Check them out, and thanks for looking!Tyler Hewitthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09326657173814004230noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3547427603860781676.post-2126064111750142372013-11-22T17:14:00.000-06:002013-11-22T17:14:50.059-06:00Hello, Goodbye?

A couple of months ago, I went to an estate sale close to my house. In an upstairs bedroom, I found a box of old Kodak B&W photo paper labeled 'do not open'. Knowing that the paper wouldn't be good, I opened the box to find about a dozen 8 X 10 B&W prints. The people running the sale told me they were their sister's photographs from a photo class, and sold me the box for $5. The photos are mostly somewhat mundane urban scenes, but printed well. I knew I'd be making collages from them.
I cut the image from an old nursing textbook, and thought it looked great on this photo. It sat unfinished in my studio for a few weeks while I looked for more things to collage with it, before I realized that it was complete as is and didn't need anything else.Tyler Hewitthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09326657173814004230noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3547427603860781676.post-39981713846425650682013-02-17T00:43:00.002-06:002013-02-17T00:43:32.061-06:00Zoom!
