The title says it all. I post an original photo (nearly) every day, and write a few comments on each one. They're not all great photos, and they don't all show perfect photographic technique (I'm way too fond of chance and happy accidents to always aim for perfection). I hope they are all interesting.

Trees And Color
Here are two versions of a photo I took a couple of days ago in my mom's front yard. I like them both, even if the second one didn't turn out quite the way I expected. The iPad app I used to color the second one cropped the photo from the square format and I could not get it to change back. Definitely a weak point of that particular app, but I do like the photo.

Fruit
I am in Michigan visiting my mother over the holidays. Unlike previous trips to Michigan where I was unable to post this blog, I now have an iPad (thanks to my employer). So, I thought this would be a good time to try out some photo apps and post the results to the blog. Hopefully, not everything I post will be overprocessed.

Variations
Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I had a nasty flu or something (not quite sure it was the flu). Here's a couple of variations on a photo of Chicago's Marina Towers to catch up. I did these while working with color effects in Photoshop as part of a class last year. The original is first, and two versions with color variations follow.

Living In The City
I made this collage a few weeks ago. The background image is a photo I shot out my sister's kitchen window, back when she lived in an apartment halfway up Telegraph Hill in San Francisco. Amazing views from that apartment, although I sometimes felt a bit like a voyeur looking out them.

Red World
This is what photos shot in digital infrared look like before they are converted to gray scale for the classic infrared look.
Here's the same photo after being adjusted:

A Test
With this post I'm testing my new iPad. I got them to buy me an iPad at work because I can use it when I'm teaching. So, I'm using the blogger app for this post. I took the photo with the iPad's camera. It's a photo of the messy desk in my studio with some in progress collages. instead of writing this post, I'm speaking it because the iPad has voice recognition which is good when you're horrible typist like I am.
