The title says it all. I post an original photo (nearly) every day, and write a few comments on each one. They're not all great photos, and they don't all show perfect photographic technique (I'm way too fond of chance and happy accidents to always aim for perfection). I hope they are all interesting.

They Might Be Hipsters IV
Here's another photo/text image made for the They Might Be Hipsters blog. The photo was shot a few years ago while playing around in my studio. I can't remember what song the lyric snippet is from, I got it from a database of TMBG lyrics.

They Might Be Hipsters
A couple of weekends ago I discovered They Might Be Hipsters, a blog that in their words "takes lyrics from the songs of They Might Be Giants and pairs them with completely unrelated pictures for the ensuing hipster fun". I must be all about the hipster fun, because I spent considerable time over that weekend making images to submit. After making a bunch of these, I read on the blog that they have about a two-month backlog of images to post (they are currently rethinking the number of posts per day to reduce the backlog). It may be a while before anything I send them shows up there, so I'm sharing some here. For the next few days, I'll post an original photo paired with a bit of a They Might Be Giants lyric.

Red!
Lovely ivy on a University of Chicago building, shot last October. I think that's a bit of my reflection in the window at the bottom of the photo.

Infrared Michigan
I spent the weekend visiting my mom and sister in Michigan. The weather was wonderful (finally!) which made wandering around my mom's yard with cameras especially nice (I seem to do that every time I visit regardless of the weather or time of year). this time, I shot infrared. These are digital infrared shots. I also shot with infrared film in my reverse lens Brownie camera. Hopefully I'll have time to develop that film tomorrow.

Weird Scan
My old scanner (replaced a few months ago) had this little space at the top of the holder for scanning negatives. That space had to be kept completely blank or else the resulting scan would be extremely distorted. This scan was made with a small bit of the strip of film accidentally in that space. I liked the result, so kept it.
