I'm on a roll with these panoramas. This one was shot in Chicago's Promontory Point, a lovely park on the Lake Michigan shore in the the Hyde Park neighborhood. Promontory Point is a wonderful place for a stroll, it offers great views of downtown, and on clear days you can see distant steel mills on the Indiana shore. And, it's not that far from President Obama's house (not that you can get close to it).

The last few times I've visited San Francisco, I've gone to the Ferry Building on a day when the farmer's market is being held there. I always become jealous of the amazing produce that's available, it's so much better than what can be found in Chicago.
This panorama was taken just outside of the Ferry Building when I was there last summer. That's the Bay Bridge in the background.

This stitched together scene was made from photos taken when I was on vacation last summer. This was at Bistro Gardens, a cute little restaurant right on the beach in Crescent City, CA. There's not a lot to do in Crescent City, it's mainly a place to stay when traveling up the California coast. Dinner and a stroll on the beach afterwords makes for an enjoyable evening.

This was shot in Lassen Volcanic National Park last summer while I was on vacation. That's Lassen Peak in the distance. Lassen is supposedly one of the least visited parks in the country, due to it's somewhat remote location in northeastern California. While it wasn't crowded, it seemed like there were more people there than there were at Redwoods and Crater Lake National Parks, which I visited on the same trip. Crowded or not, it is a beautiful park.

This shot was taken on Navy Pier, Chicago's most annoying tourist trap, a couple of years ago. Although it's overcrowded, overpriced (parking there necessitates taking out a second mortgage), and not that interesting, it does have good views of the Chicago skyline. This is a closeup of the ferris wheel on the pier, with Lake Point Tower in the background.

Here's another photo taken in Chicago's Chinatown. this one was taken with my toy Holga camera using expired black and white film. I made a duotone gum bichromate print of this photo a couple of years ago, using gold metallic paint with a layer of black on top. Here's what it looks like:

This is one of many photos I shot about three years ago of the architectural models of the new modern wing at the Art Institute of Chicago, which opened last spring. I posted a bunch of these to JPG magazine about a year ago, you can see them by following the link from this post.

Here's stitched together photo of Barr Creek Falls near Prospect, Oregon. I spent the night in Prospect last summer (it's about the closest lodging to Crater Lake National Park). This and another waterfall were in a park about a half mile walk from the B&B I stayed at. I hope to return to Oregon someday, it's really beautiful there.

I was in Washington D.C. for a wedding this weekend. I'm not planning on posting any photos I took of the actual ceremony (especially without the couple's permission), but here's a photo I took a few minutes before the wedding started. The wedding was held in the courtyard of a small hotel. The weather was beautiful, as was the location and the ceremony. I had a great time, and glad am glad I was able to attend.

Here's an oldie (and a cheesy!). I took this photo back around 1988 or so, when I first started becoming interested in photography. That's my sister in all her 80's finery, she was in high school at the time. My cousin Kenny's legs complete the scene.
Over twenty years later, I'm in Chicago, my sister lives with her husband and two daughters in San Francisco, and my cousin is currently living with friends in Frankfurt, Germany. Time flies!

A couple of years ago I was was doing a lot of shooting in museums as raw material for a body of work in alternative photo processes. This is an unused photo from a shooting excursion to Chicago's Field Museum. I like the photo (and just realized it would make a good example for my 2D Design class), but it didn't fit with the rest of the pieces I was working on.

This photo is looking up at the ceiling of a Cafe in San Francisco. The orange paper pieces were part of an art installation. I don't remember exactly where this cafe is, I shot this photo about three years ago. All I can remember is that it's close to Golden Gate Park.

This was shot with an old 35mm Kodak film camera last spring while I was riding my bike in Blue Island, IL. I like shooting with this camera, it's very easy to do double exposures with it. I also like the rounded corners, which you can see in this photo.
